How it works

From pixels to paths in three steps

  1. 1

    Upload your image

Drop, browse or paste a PNG, JPG, WebP or GIF up to 10 MB. No account needed.

  2. 2

    We trace it

Our own vector engine detects what kind of image it is — logo, line art, pixel art — and traces clean paths with the right settings.

  3. 3

    Download

Save the SVG for free. Pro adds DXF, EPS and PDF, and batches of up to 50 images.

Large images are automatically reduced to a maximum long edge of 2000 pixels before conversion. Your original dimensions are kept in the downloads.

What works best

Built for logos, cut files and line art

The engine picks its settings from the image type, so these six convert cleanly on the first try.

  • Logos & clipart

Flat colors and crisp edges trace into a few clean paths — easy to recolor and scale to any size.

  • Stickers & Cricut cut files

Bold outlines become clean cut lines. Upload the SVG straight into Cricut Design Space.

  • Silhouettes

One-color shapes trace almost perfectly — ideal for vinyl, laser engraving and stencils.

  • Line art & coloring pages

Strokes stay smooth and evenly weighted instead of jagged at the edges.

  • Signatures

Turn a scan or photo of a signature into a clean vector for stamps, engraving or documents.

  • Pixel art & gradient logos

Pixel art keeps its hard squares; gradient logos keep smooth color transitions.

Photos? They come out poster-like.

A photo becomes bold, flat areas of color — not a photo-realistic copy. That suits stylized prints and stickers, not retouching or detailed portraits.

File formats explained

SVG, DXF, EPS or PDF — which one do I need?

SVG is free. DXF, EPS and PDF come with Pro and are traced from the same paths.

  • SVGFree

Scalable Vector Graphics. Opens in browsers, Cricut Design Space, Inkscape, Illustrator and Figma.

  • DXFPro

The CAD exchange format laser cutters, CNC and plasma software expect, such as LightBurn.

  • EPSPro

Classic vector format that print shops and sign makers still ask for.

  • PDFPro

Vector PDF that stays sharp at any size — easy to print, share or open in Illustrator.

DXF R12 keeps closed outlines grouped by color; set physical units in your machine software. PDF keeps gradients and transparency. EPS keeps gradients and approximates transparency on white. SVG is artwork for embroidery digitizing, not a stitch file.

Privacy

Your images stay yours

Client logos, signatures and personal photos are exactly the files people hesitate to upload. So we built the converter not to keep them.

  • Processed in memory

Your image travels over an encrypted connection to our own engine, is converted in memory and discarded right after.

  • Never stored

We don’t save uploads or results, so there’s nothing to leak and nothing to delete later. We don’t send images to third-party conversion or AI services.

  • No account for free use

Free conversions need no sign-up. Pro only needs an email for receipts and sign-in links.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Is Image to SVG really free?

Yes. You can convert 10 images per day and download the SVG without signing up. Free images reset at midnight UTC. Pro is only for higher volume, batch conversion and DXF, EPS or PDF export.

Do I need to create an account?

Not for free use. Pro uses the email you enter at checkout: we send a one-time sign-in link, so there is no password to remember. The link works once and expires after 15 minutes.

What happens to my images?

Each image is converted in memory by our own engine and discarded as soon as the SVG is sent back. We never store uploads or results or send them to third-party AI services. We keep usage counts and account and payment information for Pro.

Which images convert best?

Logos, clipart, stickers, silhouettes, line art and coloring pages, signatures, pixel art and gradient logos — anything with clear shapes and a limited number of colors. You can edit path fills in a vector editor; lettering becomes outlines, not live text.

Can I convert a photo to SVG?

You can, but expect a poster-like result: bold, flat areas of color rather than a photo-realistic copy. Crop to the subject and use a plain background for the cleanest result.

Will the SVG work in Cricut Design Space?

Yes. Upload it like any SVG; each color comes in as its own layer you can cut, draw or hide. Check the paths and dimensions before cutting.

What can I upload, and how big?

PNG, JPG/JPEG, WebP and GIF files up to 10 MB. For animated GIFs we trace the first frame. Large images are automatically reduced to a maximum long edge of 2000 pixels before conversion, while downloads keep the original dimensions.

What does Pro add, and can I cancel?

Up to 2,500 images a month (or 16,000 a year), batches of up to 50 with ZIP download, DXF, EPS and PDF export, and no ads. Cancel anytime; you get a full refund if you ask within 7 days.
